Episode 9 - “The Turtle and the Hare”
Carrie wonders if it’s always better to marry someone that loves you more than you love them. Of course it is. What’s to wonder? There was an episode of “Seinfeld” where they showed that it is important to have hand in a relationship. There’s no bigger hand than knowing the other person loves you more. It’s like having Shaq’s hand (cause it’s big).
When your spouse loves you more, they will do anything to make sure you don’t leave them. Not sure who loves the other more? Test it out. Next time you are having dinner with your spouse, tell them you are leaving them. The crying and lack of understanding show how desperate they are to keep you. Now, ask yourself: If the situation was reversed, would you be crying as much? No? Then, you have hand and you are going to love it. What’s about to follow is a world that almost entirely resembles your oyster. Before you enter oyster world, it would be best to tell your spouse that you’re willing to stay if things change. Your more-loving spouse is still crying. Don’t forget that.
At this point, you can request anything and get it. New set of golf clubs. XBox 360. Hummer. (Interpret that as you wish. I’m thinking truck.) Any hesitation on the spouse’s part should be countered with fake tears and a yelling of “I thought you said things would change!” You ride this all the way to your Golden Anniversary. Enjoy.
I’m such a Carrie for this one because, if I needed to, I would marry a friend to help them get their inheritance.
